In a commendable initiative to improve healthcare access in remote areas, the Border Security Force (BSF), Manipur Frontier, has announced plans to conduct 30 free medical and health awareness camps across the state over the next four months as part of its Civic Action Programme.
According to a release issued by the BSF, the first of these camps was successfully organized on November 4 at T/Khullen village in Senapati district, drawing an overwhelming response from local residents.
Over 500 villagers from South Changaubung, TZ Khullen, Ningthoupham, Mayangkhang, Hembung, and neighboring villages availed themselves of free consultation and treatment provided by a team of doctors from the BSF and the District Hospital, Senapati.
The camp offered a wide range of medical services, including clinical diagnostic investigations, child growth assessments, and general health awareness sessions.
Free essential and life-saving medicines were also distributed to patients as prescribed by the attending doctors.
Additionally, canteen and banking services, as well as interactive sessions with district authorities, were made available for the convenience of the public.
BSF officials highlighted that these medical camps are part of the Force's ongoing efforts to bridge healthcare gaps and foster goodwill among local communities.
They emphasized that the Civic Action Programme is designed to strengthen the bond between the BSF and the people by addressing essential needs in far-flung regions.
Local community leaders and village headmen expressed heartfelt gratitude to the BSF for their humanitarian outreach, noting that such initiatives are vital in improving the quality of life in remote areas where medical facilities are limited.
