Imphal, May 03 2026:
Marking three years since violence broke out in Manipur, the All Manipur Nupi Marup (AMNM) today accused the State and Central Governments of failing to end "three years of lawlessness".
In a press release, AMNM said the conflict that began on May 3, 2023 has brought only "blood, displacement, and the destruction of our motherland".
"We ask today: Who will finally end this three-year-long war?" the statement said.
AMNM alleged both Governments have failed to protect lives and property, citing the absence of a "final step" or "correct policy".
It claimed the presence of central forces has not deterred "Kuki narco-terrorists" and accused the Centre of being ineffective against militants threatening Manipur's territorial integrity.
The group highlighted thousands still in relief camps, unable to return home, with women and children as the main victims.
AMNM demanded the Government take responsibility for lives lost and homes destroyed over the last 1,095 days, and called for immediate action to "uproot narco-terrorism" to ensure the survival of the indigenous population.
It also urged an urgent political resolution that respects Manipur's territorial and social integrity.
AMNM further called upon the people to stay united and asked the Government to "wake up" before the social fabric of the State is irreparably damaged.
