Entrepreneurship awareness programme on 'Women SHG Business Empowerment' held at Heirok

A one-day entrepreneurship awareness programme on "Women Self Help Group (SHG) Business Empowerment" was held today at Heirok Pt-IIl Ngarouthel Community Hall under the sponsorship of Development Commissioner, Ministry of Micro, Small & Medium Enterprise (DCMSME), The programme was jointly organised by the MSME-Technology Centre, Imphal, in collaboration with Apunba Thouna VLF, Leimarembi VLF,' Leishemba VLF and Ningol Club.
The event aimed at empowering women SHGs by enhancing their understanding of entrepreneurship opportunities, government schemes and financial linkages.
Speaking on the occasion, MSME TC Imphal, Deputy Director Dr Sinam Yoirentomba Meitei stated that the Ministry of MSME plays a crucial role in supporting entrepreneurs, through various policies and schemes.
He stressed the importance of thoroughly understanding the benefits offered under MSME schemes and utilising them effectively to help business grow and sustain.
Dr Yoirentomba highlighted that registration under UDYAM is essential to avail MSME benefits and advised ehtrepreneurs to complete the online registration process carefully by providing genuine details of their business activities to avoid future complications.
He also underlined the need for maintaining good relations with financial institutions to access government schemes, expressing concern that poor banking relationships in the state have often hindered economic growth.
NABARD Assistant General Manager Thokchom Kiran Singh also elaborated on the various benefits and financial support extended by banks to entrepreneurs, with special emphasis on the options and credit facilities available for Self Help Groups, while Laishram Bisheshwor Meitei, a young successful entrepreneur who is the proprietor of M/S Greenland Firm, shared practical insights on entrepreneurship and the key factors required to build a successful business.
The event was also attended by officials of MSRLM , entrepreneurs.
SHG members and representatives of Village Level Federations, marking a significant step towards promoting women-led entrepreneurship in the region.
