Sangai count is depleting

A one day awareness programme on Human Rights jointly organised by the Centre for Human Rights Duties Education, Manipur University and Research Wing was held today at Laphupat Tera.
Former Minister, M Nilachandra and Dr M Sureshkumar, of the Centre for Human Rights Duties Education, MU graced the function as chief guest and president respectively.
Dr M Sureshkumar said that Human rights violation is a common occurrence in the state which is an armed conflict zone.
It is very important to make the public aware of human rights.
If the people are aware of human rights then state and non state actors will not be able to violate rights.
M Nilachandra said that the expansion of Keibul Lamjao National Park is directly affecting the people of Laphupat Tera.
General Secretary, Research Wing Centre for Human Rights Duties Education M Surendro said that saving the Sangai is a common duty unfortunately the population of the Sangai has decreased.
