Health camps benefit hundreds in Imphal West

Imphal, May 24 2026:
Two major health camps were conducted in Imphal West district this weekend, extending free medical services to hundreds of residents.
Wide Angle (Social Development Organisation), Sagolband Moirang Hanuba, with support from Azim Premji Foundation and in collaboration with Children's Collective, organised a comprehensive medical health camp on Sunday at Iputhou Pakhangba Community Hall, Ngairangbam The camp benefited over 300 individuals from Ngairangbam Makha, Ngairangbam Awang, Ngairangbam Maning, Maklang, and nearby villages.
A large number of participants were children aged 7 to 18 years, while pregnant women, lactating mothers, and children aged 0-6 years also availed essential services.
The initiative focused on basic health check-ups, preventive healthcare awareness, and addressing the health needs of women and children.
A blood donation drive was also held in collaboration with the Lions Club of Kangla and Babina Blood Centre, Khabeisoi, with nearly 30 voluntary donors contributing to emergency healthcare services.
Organisers thanked the Medical Directorate, Manipur, National Health Mission, the Medical Officer of Imphal West, and the team from Khumbong Community Health "Centre, along with parents, clubs, and Meira Paibis of Ngairangbam for their support.
Meanwhile, a Mega Free Health Camp was held on Saturday at Meino Leirak Community Hall, Sagolband, under the guidance of MLA RK Imo Singh.
Jointly conducted by the Sagolband Constituency Progressive Committee and Urban Primary Health Centre, Sagolband, the camp provided free consultations, check-ups.
medicines, and awareness services to a large number of locals.
Speaking at the event, Imo Singh said Sagolband lacked a UPHC since statehood, and establishing one has been a landmark achievement of his three terms.
He added that free camps have been held for the last 3-4 years across wards on a rotational basis to ensure access to basic healthcare.
The MLA thanked medical professionals, volunteers, and residents, reaffirming that public welfare and inclusive development remain his top priorities.
