Imphal, August 19 2025:
BJP Manipur Pradesh has slammed the Opposition Congress party's allegation of vote theft levelled against BJP as baseless and outrageous.
Speaking to media persons at their Keishampat Nityaipat Chuthek office today, BJP Manipur Pradesh vice president P Nimbus said that Congress leader Rahul Gandhi's attempt to paint BJP as voter swindlers is the desperate attempt of a power hungry party.
While conveniently overlooking how rapidly India has progressed since BJP came to power in the country in 2014, the Congress party is desperately focusing on wresting power and it does not care even if the country remains backward or underdeveloped.
Nimbus said.
He said that the Congress party has been spewing venom among the people from the protracted crisis of Manipur and it is politicising the same crisis.
Driven by their hunger for power, the Congress party has been demanding early elections in the State, he said.
The PR administration has been working to rehabilitate IDPs while CSOs have talked with the Thadou apex body in an effort to bring peace.
These are all positive steps, Nimbus remarked.
BJP Manipur Pradesh general secretary K Saratkumar said that BJP never stole any vote.
Accusing the Congress party of stealing votes when ballot papers were used for casting votes, Saratkumar said that the Congress party has been demanding reversal to ballot papers so that it can take recourse to its old unethical practice.
The Congress party is not saying anything about misuse of EVMs in States where the party is in power.
Instead of raising the alleged lapses or flaws in the election procedure in the Parliament, Opposition leader Rahul Gandhi has been protesting on the streets, he said.
After targeting the Income Tax Department, CBI and ED, the Congress party is now charging the ECI with all kinds of wild allegations.
He went to allege that the Congress party has been scheming to create a situation in the country as seen in Myanmar and Bangladesh.
Saratkumar went on to claim that the Congress party will be wiped out from the country after the next Lok Sabha elections.
The Prime Minister's speech on Independence Day was for the whole country.
The speech encompassed all the States, it was not restricted to any specific State or States, he said.
Extension of the President's Rule does not mean a popular Government cannot be formed, he said before exuding confidence that a popular Government will be installed in the State.
