Imphal, April 28 2025:
Intas Foundation, Imphal organised a Factor Distribution Camp at A Block, Department of Medicine.
Jawaharlal Nehru Institute of Medical Sciences (JNIMS), Imphal.
The camp conducted under the Haemophilia Patient Assistance Programme of Intas Foundation aimed at supporting patients with haemophilia by providing free access to clotting factor concentrates, medical consultations and educational guidance.
Speaking at the event, Dr Irom Anil Singh, Associate Professor, JNIMS Hospital, said that haemophilia is a rare, inherited bleeding disorder where blood doesn't clot properly due to a deficiency of certain clotting factors.
"This can lead to prolonged bleeding after injuries, easy bruising, and a higher risk of bleeding into joints or the brain", he added.
He shared that April 17 is observed every year as World Haemophilia Day to raise awareness about hemophilia and other bleeding disorders, support individuals and families affected by these conditions, and advocate for improved access to care.
Intas Foundation Imphal's project associate Chandam Matadona Singh was also present at the event.
