Jayantakumar launches Health and Wellness Centres, stresses to strengthen mothers physically and mentally

Imphal/Tbl, August 11 2018: Health Minister L Jayantakumar Singh today launched Health and Wellness Centre (HWC) each at Imphal West and Thoubal districts for the first time in the State.

Health Minister while speaking at the launching of Health and Wellness Centre at Tendongyang Primary Health Sub-Centre, Imphal west said that people cannot live happily without good health and asserted that the Govt has been putting maximum effort to provide best services to the public.

He also said that the newly opened HWC will provide basic health facilities to the needy people without spending much money and time.

The new initiative of the Govt will make it sure that medicine and clinical facilities are provided at free of cost to the people.

Jayentakumar also highlighted the benefits given by the Chief Minsiter - Gee -Hakshelgi Tengbang (CMHT).

He appealed to the Health staff and doctors to serve and treat the patients as their own family members so that a healthy relation is built between the two parties.

Appealing the public to co-operate with the Govt, He also urged the public to enjoy the benefits given by the new initiative.

The function was also attended by MLA, Lamsang AC S Rajen, who is also the Dy Chairman of State Planning Board, Manipur as president and Dr K Rajo Singh, Director Health Services Manipur as guest of honour respectively.

Jayentakumar also inaugurated a Cold chain storage at Primary Health centre, Khongampat.

Meanwhile, Health Minister L Jayantakumar, during the inaugural ceremony of another centre at Tekcham under Wangjing Tentha AC, Thoubal district has conveyed that it is necessary to strengthen the mothers physically and mentally to ensure healthy and strong future generation.

The ceremony was organised by National Health Mission Manipur and Directorate of Health and Family Welfare Services Manipur.

The centre was constructed under Ayushman Bharat, a National Health Protection scheme, reports our correspondent.

Jayantakumar who attended the ceremony as chief guest further stated that Ayushman Bharat launched by the Indian Govt, to ensure healthy and proper lifestyle, will also be successfully implemented in the State and opportunities under the scheme will be provided to the people as well.

The Primary Health Sub Centre is gradually improved and upgraded into a new state known as Health and Wellness Centre, he added.

The centre, apart from delivering different services to the public, will provide proper care and service to pregnant women and elderly persons as well.

Stating that the centre will treat different diseases like HIV/AIDS, TB, Leprosy, Hepatitis, Dengue etc, Jayantakumar appealed the public to avail the benefits at the centre.

Wangjing Tentha AC MLA Paonam Brojen, Principal Secretary, Health and Family Welfare Vumlunmang Vualnam attended the event as dignitaries apart from Health and Family Welfare Director Rajo, Mission Director N Bandana, DC Thoubal, H Roshita, SP, Thoubal Goutam and other department officials.
