Imphal, May 05 2026:
The Dhanamanjuri Community College (DMCC) has categorically denied allegations levelled by the Kangleipak Students' Association (KSA) surrounding registration of vocational course students with the National Commission for Allied Healthcare Professions (NCAHP).
KSA had demanded strict action against the College authorities accusing them of being negligent and failing to register students of vocational courses at DMCC with NCAHP.
A press release issued by Professor N Shubhaschandra Singh, Nodal Officer, clarified that skill based courses such as Medical Laboratory Technology (MLT), Operation Theatre Technology (OTT) and Radiology and Imaging Technology (RIT) were not introduced in 2019 .
Some of these courses were introduced at the time when DMCC was established in 2014.The NCAHP is a regulatory body that standardizes the nomenclature, curriculum etc of allied and healthcare courses in institutions across the country.
Though the Commission was constituted under the National Commission for Allied and Healthcare Professions Act in 2021 .
it only became formally effective in 2024, explained the DMCC press release.
The concerned State departments are also currently attempting to set up a State Council for Allied and Health Professions.
The present Nodal Officer, DMCC has been in touch with the NCAHP officials to find a way to register the students who have passed out since 2014 and to further devise a means to gain recognition for the older vocational courses.
Similarly, the authority of Dhanamanjuri College has been communicating with the State Government over this issue and convened various meetings.
Amidst such efforts to get the students registered with NCAHP, the allegations made by KSA, which can misguide the student community, is truly unfortunate, said the DMCC press note.
It further said that both the former and present Nodal Officer had previously met with student bodies regarding the NCAHP debacle and arrived at an understanding.
The press note accused the KSA of attempting to hinder the admission process for 2026-27, which is on the verge of starting, with such allegations.
If the KSA agrees, DMCC is planning to jointly organise a press briefing to uncover the truth about the NCAHP registration issue with the participation of College staff in the coming days.
