Naga bodies re-affirm

Naga organisations in Manipur reaffirmed to defend and protect their uncestrul homeland including land and unnatural resources, history, Identity, tradition, culture und time honoured institution "at all cost".
This stand was taken in a "joint emergency meeting" of the United Naga Council (UNC), Naga Women Union (NWU) and the All Naga Students' Association, Manipur (ANSAM) held at Imphal to review the over all political development and situation prevailing in the "present" State of Manipur and issues pertaining to indigenous Naga tribal people in particular.
The meeting also reiterated that the Naga people will oppose any attempt that will dislodge its traditional position on the pretext of development and administrative convenience, Acts, Bills, Orders etc.
that will affect the Naga people directly or indirectly.
Further, the meeting resolved that the Naga people will not accept any bill which are detrimental to the rights and interest of the "indigenous tribal people" under any circumstances.
