NMBA awareness cum self esteem development programme held

Kakching, March 28 2025:
The District Administration Kakching in association with the District Social Welfare Office, Kakching organised an awareness cum Self Esteem Development Programme as part of the District Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan (Drug Free India Campaign) at Khomdonbi Memorial (KBM) English School Relief Camp and M Binod Relief Camp, Kakching Khunou, Kakching district.
The campaign aimed to educate and support the IDPs in maintaining a drug-free lifestyle by raising awareness about the harmful effects of drug abuse and its long term consequences.
It also seeks to equip displaced individuals with practical strategies and resources to help them resist substance use.
The programme was attended by Nutan Nongthombam, Asian Youth Leader Colombo Plan as resource person.
The Convenor of KBM Relief Camp Mayanglambam Ratan Mangang and Probation Officer.
District Social Welfare Office (Kakching) Sanasam Sarat Singh also attended the programme.
A total of 250 and 140 inmates attended the programme held at KBM Relief Camp and M Binod Relief Camp respectively.
Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan (NMBA) is a nationwide campaign launched by the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment in August 2020 to make India Drug Free and is being implemented in 372 most vulnerable districts based on the findings of the first Comprehensive National Survey and inputs from the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) .
