Governor inaugurates Dialysis Unit at JNIMS

Imphal, March 22 2025: Governor Ajay Kumar Bhalla, today inaugurated a newly established Dialysis Unit at Jawaharlal Nehru Institute of Medical Sciences (JNIMS), Imphal.

According to a release issued by PRO Raj Bhavan, the unit has been established by the State Health Society, Manipur, under the National Health Mission as part of the Pradhan Mantri National Dialysis Program (PMNDP) .

The new facility is equipped with 10 hemodialysis machines and aims to provide accessible and affordable dialysis services to the people.

Sumant Singh, Commissioner cum Secretary, Health & Family Welfare, was also present at the inauguration ceremony.

Later, the Governor visited various wards inside JNIMS, where he interacted with hospital officials and inquired about the functioning of the institute.

He also chaired a meeting with the Heads of Department of JNIMS to review areas requiring improvement.

During the meeting, the HODs apprised the Governor of the various issues they are facing and submitted a memorandum.

The Governor acknowledged their concerns and stated that he would review the matters.
