JAC condemns SDPO Kakching

Imphal, July 19 2013 : JAC against the killing of Md Naeemuddin & the police attrocities at Sora on 18th July 2013, on behalf of Sora people has strongly condemned SDPO Kakching A Ghanashyam Sharma for killing and injuring people.

A press note of the JAC said, in his search for the killer of DK Mosilfa alias James who was brutally murdered on July 3, the SDPO with his indifference conduct fired upon a 407 Tata truck bearing MN01-8127 without any interrogation, killing Md Naeemuddin (12) S/o Riyajuddin of Sora Makha Leikai and injuring 8 persons yesterday night.

At 8 pm yesterday, while all the men were at masajids doing namaz for Ramadan, women of Sora Makha Leikai cried and screamed that many armed men came down from the hill.

At this the men at masajids ran after the suspected Naga armed men and surrounded the area where the later were suppossed to be fleeing taking the advantage of the dark, the note stated.

It then said, at this time the said 407 Tata truck came back from Kakching Lamkhai and the SDPO Kakching who was there at Lamkhai started firing many rounds of bullets at the truck without conducting any interrogation, killing Md Naeemuddin at the spot and injuring 8 other persons on the truck.

The injured persons who are being treated at hospitals were Md Rashid S/o Soukat Ali, Md Najir Khan S/o (L) Md Jamaluddin, Md Safi S/o Jalaludi, Md Akbar S/o Noor Khan, Md Thoiba S/o (L) Lahimuddin, Md Anijad Khan S/o Md Khomei, Md Zabir S/o Baserudi, and Md Warish S/o Mufijuddin, it informed.

The note added that the people of Sora also condemned the police for firing upon other gathering people too, causing panic to the people, women and children.

Ch Modar S/o Ch Morung and Tkh Methil S/o Tkh Mosangful, both of Langol Village who came back during the incident after buying medicine from Pallel were handed safely to the OC Kakching by the people.

Denouncing the news published in today's newspapers that the gun firing incident was between the people of Sora Village and Laijing Minou as wrong and baseless, the press note informed that a public meeting conducted at 8 am today has resolved that if the concerned Govt department do not award punishment for murder to the SDPO Kakching and his team personally involved in the killing, within 24 hours then the JAC will launch various agitations along with different sections of the people.
