KMC Kakching rallies against single use plastic

Thoubal, April 16 2025: To spread awareness amongst the public on the impact of single use plastic, the Kha Manipur College Environmental Science Unit in collaboration with Eco Club and NCC Unit organised an awareness rally under Green Education Programme campaign of "Plastic Free Zone" launched by the Department of Environment and Climate Change, Porompat, Imphal East.

Participated by students and faculty members of Kha Manipur College, the rally commenced from the college premises and concluded at Kakching Keithel.

During the rally, placards with inscriptions 'reuse, reduce, refuse plastic, plastic free, feature our collective duty, say no to use single plastic, yes to greener future, respect the planet, among others were used and pamphlets were also distributed to the people.

Speaking in this connection, Kha Manipur College, Principal Dr O Rudrababu said that the awareness rally was organised to spread a message to the people on the impact of single use plastic which poses a significant threat to the environment.

He added that the rally was aimed to educate die public about the negative impacts of single use plastic and called for collective effort to protect and preserve the environment.
