Bishnupur, April 03 2025: Kumbi Setupur Mayai Leikai Women's Welfare Association staged a sit-in protest today at Kumbi Setupur against the transfer of Kakching SP, Priyadarshini to Jiribam.

Speaking at the sideline of the protest, Kumbi Setupur Mayai Leikai Women's Welfare Assn, president Indubala stated that the transfer order of Priyadarshini who had just taken charge as the SP of Kakching only a month ago to a very sensitive area like Jiribam is shocking.

Even when a male officer cannot defend such a sensitive area, how could a female officer defend such a high risk area, questioned Indubala.

She therefore appeals to the authority concerned to revoke the transfer order of Priyadarshini and to instead send a male officer to such a high risk area.

During the protest, the protesters wielded placards with messages such as "We Condemn Transfer of Madam Priyadarshini Laishram to a Red Zone Area," "Stop Politicizing Transfer and Posting Orders", "Resolve Issues of Internally Displaced Persons," "Save Manipur", "We Stand with Priyadarshini Laishram," among others.
