Health and Family Welfare Minister L Jayantakumar inaugurated a newly constructed block of PHC Mekola yesterday.
With the inauguration of the extension building, the PHC has now 19 beds.
Minister L Jayantakumar, who was the chief guest of the function, declared that the PHC would function 24x7 with night admission facility.
He further added that the State Government is putting effort to set up one district hospital each in all the districts of the State.
As rural areas are lack in health facilities, the Minister said, the Government is paying more attention to it.
According to the staff of the PHC, 75 mothers have delivered their babies in the PHC since it started delivery service in January 2009. Presently, the PHC has five allopathy doctors, one Ayush doctor, five staff nurse, six ANM nurses, three pharmacists, one laboratory technician, 28 Asha workers, one each of male and female health supervisor, one microscopist and other administrative staff.
Services like anti-natal care, post natal care, Ayush ICTC, immunization, DOT etc.
MLA RK Anand, State Mission Director PK Jha, Health Services Director S Ibomcha, Family Welfare Director Dr L Joykumar and Kodompokpi Zilla Parishad Member Sh Chaoba were also present in the function.
