During the meeting, team members listened to concerns and suggestions.
Many parents expressed appreciation for the financial assistance, while some requested additional support for tuition fees for Class 10 students and vocational training opportunities.
Col Christopher Rego empathized with the families' hardships, highlighting the Trust's decade-long commitment to working in Manipur and assuring regular camp visits to resolve academic difficulties.
Myrna Rego shared a success story, noting that eight previously sponsored students had completed their education and become full-fledged members of the Sunbird Trust team.
Two of these individuals, present at the event, shared personal testimonies about how the support transformed their lives.
Col Lokendra Singh praised the dedication of the team who traveled from afar to support the affected persons during this challenging period, encouraging students to leverage the available opportunities.
Notably, Sunbird Trust has been at the forefront of relief efforts since the conflict began, providing essential supplies such as dry rations, thermal clothing, and stationery to IDP camps across the region.
The NGO currently awards scholarships to over 7,000 students statewide and has supported the vocational training of 130 students through camps conducted by the Assam Rifles and the BSF.
The Trust has facilitated the relocation of several students to various schools so that they could continue with their education uninterrupted.
Sunbird Trust has also extended support to students pursuing courses in nursing, pharmacy, computer science, and other disciplines at colleges in different parts of India.
