Essay and Painting competitions organised in Chandel and Tengnoupal to mark Wildlife Week

As part of the nationwide 71st Wildlife Week celebration, which will be observed from October 2-8, 2025, the Divisional Forest Officer (DFO), Chandel, organised an Essay and a Painting Competition at Model Residential School, Mantri Pantha, Chandel.
The competition held under the theme "Human-Wildlife Coexistence", witnessed enthusiastic participation from more than 120 students representing 17 institutes of Chandel district.
Speaking in this connection, DFO/Chandel Dr N Munal Meitei said that the top three winners from each category will compete with winners from 16 other districts of Manipur at the upcoming State-Level Competition.
He expressed confidence that students from Chandel, who have won laurels in past many competitions, will once again bring glory to the district.
Dr Munal also called upon the public of Chandel to extend full support and take active part in the upcoming Wildlife Week celebration beginning from next week.
Following the competitions, students participated in the fortnight-long Sewa Parv initiative under Nation First@75 campaign, which included a foot rally at Chandel, to raise awareness on wildlife conservation and environmental protection.
The DFO also flagged off a rally for the Forest Fire Mobile Alert Registration Campaign to spread awareness across the district.
On the first day of the campaign, over 120 individuals registered themselves on the Forest Survey App to receive alerts on forest fires.
Meanwhile, the Tengnoupal Forest Division, as part of the observance of the 71 st Wildlife Week celebration, organised an Essay Writing and Painting Competition at St George High School, Moreh, under the initiative of Deputy Conservator of Forest Tengnoupal Forest Division.
Held under the theme "Human-Wildlife Coexistence", the competition saw active participation from around 162 students from six institutes of Tengnoupal district.
Later, a foot rally was also carried out by the students on the theme "Say No Plastics", to raise awareness about the harmful effects of plastic and advocating for a clean, eco-friendly environment.
