Medical camps conducted for IDPs across State

The Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS), Imphal, successfully organised nine free medical camps at various relief camps across the State for Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) on Saturday.
These camps were held under the aegis of the National Legal Services Authority (NALSA) and the Manipur State Legal Services Authority (MASLSA) .
According to a release issued by RIMS, the initiative was officially inaugurated by Justice BR Gavai, Judge, Supreme Court of India cum Executive Chairman, NALSA at Moirang College Relief Camp, Bishnupur in the esteemed presence of D Krishnakumar, Chief Justice High Court of Manipur; KV Viswanathan, Judge, Supreme Court of India; Vikram Nath, Judge, Supreme Court of India; MM Sundresh, Judge, Supreme Court of India; N Kotishwar Singh, Judge, Supreme Court of India; A Guneshwar Sharma, Judge, High Court of Manipur; Ahanthem Bimol Singh, Judge, High Court of Manipur and Golmei Gaiphulsillu, Judge, High Court of Manipur.
The free medical camps provided essential healthcare services, including general check-ups, consultations, distribution of medicines, and awareness programs on hygiene and disease prevention.
A team of 150 experienced doctors, nurses, and healthcare professionals from RIMS ensured quality medical care for around 1630 displaced individuals residing in the relief camps.
Additionally, relief materials were distributed to the IDPs by the Judges, further supporting the affected communities in their time of need.
The relief camps where these medical services and relief materials were provided included Manipur Trade & Expo Centre, Lamboi Khongnangkhong, Imphal West; Meitei Langol Leima Khullen Leikai, Imphal West; Alternate Housing Complex (PDA), Imphal West; Mandop Yumpham, Khurkhul Relief Camp, Imphal West; Sawombung, Imphal East; Temporary Shelter, Khabeisoi, Imphal East; Moirang College Block A & B, Bishnupur; Rice Research Station, Khangabok, Thoubal; and Indoor Stadium, Kakching.
The event witnessed active participation from legal authorities, healthcare professionals, and volunteers, highlighting the collective efforts to uphold the fundamental right to healthcare for all individuals.
Notably, the Mega Legal Service and Medical Camp held at Sawombung Gate Community Hall was organised in collaboration with the District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), Imphal East.
Sorokhaibam Sadananda, Chief Judicial Magistrate, Imphal East and Secretary, DLSA, Imphal East was also present at the camp.
Another medical camp was also held at Alternative Housing Complex, NGV Relief Camp, organised by DLSA Imphal West in collaboration with District Administration Imphal West, Chief Medical Officer Imphal West, RIMS Hospital and Imphal West Police.
Meanwhile, the 2nd Blood Donation Camp under the theme 'Sports for Brothers & Humanity', was organised on the occasion of the 8th Foundation Day of Referees-XI Manipur at RIMS, Imphal.
The event took place at the Department of Transfusion Medicine, RIMS, Imphal; with more than 30 donors voluntarily donating blood during the camp.
