Imphal, May 05 2024:
Claiming that the recently notified revised results of the Pre-PhD admission entrance test for Education Department in Manipur University has many irregularities in terms of the marks obtained by the candidates, the Kangleipak Students' Association (KSA) has appealed to the authorities concerned to re-conduct the examination without involving any teachers who were engaged/ involved in the earlier entrance test.
A release signed by Toijam Ranakumar, HRD secretary of KSA, informed that in the first Pre-PHD admission entrance test for the Education Department conducted on April 29, 2024, 10 students were declared eligible for viva-voce.
"However, on May 1, another notification was issued by the relevant authorities citing 'Computer Typographical Error' with changes in the overall tabulation of the marks and increasing the number of eligible candidates for viva-voce to 21", it added.
KSA also alleged that the revised results of the entrance test with stark variations in the marks obtained by the candidates clearly shows that the examination was a complete failure and should be declared null & void.
KSA also questioned the competency of the relevant authorities who were responsible for the gross blunder and error in the Pre-PhD admission entrance test which was conducted for only 34 students.
Stating that such inexcusable mistakes should not be overlooked, KSA further urged the authorities of Manipur University to take necessary steps to re-conduct the test with utmost integrity & transparency and cease any attempt to validate the newly declared result.
