Meitei driver threatened: Kuki Inpi JTN to make efforts for peace, smooth passage along NH-37

In connection with threats issued to a Meitei driver by Kuki miscreants at Tatbung village on October 12, the Kuki Inpi Jiribam, Tamenglong & Noney districts, Manipur (Kuki Inpi JTN) has assured that it will make sincere efforts to maintain peace in Jiribam and Tamenglong and ensure smooth passage of vehicles and passengers along the NH-37 (Jiribam to New Kaiphundai) without any interference.
A statement issued by Seijathang Khongsai, general secretary, Kuki Inpi JTN and Jangminthang Singson, president, Kuki Inpi JTN further informed that Kuki Inpi JTN will carry out awareness cum special campaigns in this regard in the villages from Phaitol to Kaimai along the NH-37 in collaboration with local village authority, youth clubs, women society etc before October 22 .
The statement further shared that the suspects that had been handed over to the 39 Assam Rifles, Kadamtala and SP Jiribam and presented before the Jiribam Peace Committee on October 13 in connection with the unfortunate incident were found to be innocent.
Kuki Inpi JTN has assured to take full responsibility in the efforts to maintain peace.
Meanwhile, the Tatbung Village Authority has strongly condemned the incident of issuing threats to a Meitei driver at Tatbung village.
A statement issued by J Thangboy Khongsai, secretary VA and Hemkhojang, Chief, Tatbung Village has sought forgiveness of the Meitei community for the unfortunate incident which happened in Tatbung Village area and assured to take full responsibility to ensure that such incidents are not repeated.
