Imphal, April 16 2025: The certificate distribution of the 6-day entrepreneurship development programme on "Making Bakery Items" was conducted today at Thangmeiband Relief Camp in Khuyathong.

The programme which was held from April 8 to 13 was organised by the Department of Science and Technology, Government of Manipur with the participation of approximately 50 inmates from the relief camp.

Speaking as the chief guest, Kengoo Zuringla, Secretary, Department of Science and Technology, said that despite adversities that have uprooted people's lives, they have to find a means to sustain their livelihood.

As a result, the training programme was held to provide the relief camp inmates with a way to make money.

She also expressed joy at the enthusiasm displayed by the inmates during the training course.

Meanwhile, Ch Shachi, Joint Secretary, Department of Science and Technology encouraged the displaced folks to continue to work hard with the hope of better days on the horizon.

Urging them to never lose hope, she said that the skills taught during the programme can help them start small businesses.

Homila Hongrei, Director, Science and Technology, Manipur informed the gathering about the plans of the Department to conduct similar training programmes in other relief camps.

Kh Premjit, volunteer at the relief camp and trainer P Surbala were also present at the ceremony.
