Imphal, March 04 2020: Renowned Indian child climate activist Licypriya Kangujam will be speaking at Washington DC, USA on the celebration of the 50th anniversary of Earth Day 2020 April 25 .

The program will be hosted by Hollywood star Leonardo DiCaprio and many other great world leaders.

President of Earth Day Network Kathrene Rogers congratulated Licypriya for her inspiring works for the planet.

2020 is a very crucial year to fight the global climate crisis.

The program will be attended by highly distinguished guests from various countries.

Licypriya to address millions in America

Licypriya will be travelling with her mother Bidyarani.

All her expenses for travelling and hospitality for her eight days visit will be borne by the organizer.

She will be visiting various places including the United Nations Headquarters in New York to meet many inspiring world leaders.

Licypriya said, "I broke down while reading the letter.

Despite not listening by the Government of India, the world is already listening to my voice" .

She said, "I will make my country proud.

My journey to Washington DC will be a remarkable historic visit" .

India ranks as the 5th most vulnerable country in the world to extreme weather events.

Licypriya is playing an important role in the global climate movement.

She has travelled over 32 countries and planted more than 51,000 trees in last 8 years, as part of the movement.

She urged the Government of India and others countries to pass the climate change law at the earliest.

The law can control carbon emissions and other green house gases.

Meanwhile, European Union just passed this law yesterday in the Parliament.

She appealed to the Government to include climate change as a compulsory subject in the education curriculum.

Licypriya said that she recently got letters from Rajasthan and Gujarat Governments saying that they will be the first States in India to include climate change as a compulsory subject.

India has become the first in Asia and second in the world taking such initiative after Italy in history.

As part of her upcoming works, she will be making a trip in an electric car from India to UK in September to raise awareness to stop using fossil fuels.

Licypriya will also attend the Tokyo Olympic Game 2020.She will launch a new Initiative called "Green Olympic Games" to make Olympic - a carbon neutral competition.
