World TB Day observed in Senapati, Bishnupur

Senapati joined the rest of the World in 33rd Tuberculosis (TB) day observance yesterday at the district headquarters with the Senapati District TB Control society organising a mass rally from the Multipurpose hall to the Mini stadium participated by the Don Bosco Hr Sec School and the Brook Dale High School.
With the theme 'Reaching the 3 million: Find, Treat and Cure', a formal observance programme was held at the Mini- Stadium.
The observance programme was graced by Dr Puspa Rai, Chief Medical Officer, Senapati as the chief guest and Dr Loli, District AIDS Control Officer, Senapati as the president.
Dr Puspa Rai in her address on the occasion reiterated the need to spread awareness among the mass.
The programme concluded with distribution of incentives to the participants and a light refreshment.
Meanwhile, a "Cycle Rally" was flagged off by Dr L Raichandra Singh, MO In-Charge of CHC Moirang and Dr Ksh Umananda Singh, MO AYUSH, CHC Moirang as part of World TB Day 2014 observance.
50 students and teachers of The Diligent Public School, Moirang, DOTS providers, NGOs' Volunteers and Staff of District TB Centre, Bishnupur have actively participated in the rally.
The Day observance programme was later organised at Community Hall, Tronglaobi.
Mutum Birachandra Singh, member, Bishnupur Zilla Parishad and O Mani Singh, Chairman of Mass United Green Association (MUGA), Tronglaobi and Lalsanglien, District Coordinator (Ccpur and Bishnupur), Project Axshya, EHA were the dignitaries attending the programme.
Best DOTS Provider prizes were also distributed during the function.
