Rhythms of Manipur to perform at World Summit in Mumbai

A 10-member cultural troupe of Rhythms of Manipur will perform at the Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Centre inside the Jio World Convention Centre, Mumbai, during the first-ever World Audio Visual and Entertainment Summit (WAVES) hosted by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting from May 1 to 4, 2025 .
The summit, which will be attended by world leaders, industry heavyweights, creators, and tech innovators, will be inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on May 1 at the Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Centre.
In a statement, Rhythms of Manipur informed that sponsored by the North East Zone Cultural Centre, Dimapur under the Ministry of Culture, the Rhythms of Manipur troupe will showcase instrumental performances, including the popular Langden drumming by four women drummers supported by six other musicians, for three days from May 1 to 3 during the summit.
The troupe, led by founding artist and secretary Rajkumar Sanatomba Singh, will leave Imphal for Mumbai on April 27 morning.
This will mark the group's third tour to Mumbai, having previously performed at Church Gate in 2022 and at Yash Raj Studios in 2023 .
