Imphal, September 29 2012:
The bandh imposed by the JAC, that was constituted following the murder of S Nabil Chief early this month, today disrupted normal life as markets remained closed and vehicles stayed offthe road, informed our correspondent.
Shops in some areas of the township were opened in the morning but bandh supporters have forced them to call it a day.
The JAC has been demanding that the three accused named in the FIR on the murder of Nabil village chief should be booked and prosecuted.
They have earlier imposed a partial bandh, held street rally and announced closure of government offices to take home their demands.
As the government reportedly failed to even book any one of them, the JAC has taken their agitation further and went ahead with the general strike that has disrupted normal life.
