Imphal, October 24 2025:
The All Manipur Dialysis Patients Association (AMDPA) has urged the Government to settle outstanding dues owed to private hospitals under the CMHT and PMJAY schemes so that underprivileged patients can continue to avail the benefit of the healthcare schemes.
Speaking to the media at Manipur Press Club, AMDPA member Chongtham Laxmi said that many underprivileged patients could face life-threatening consequences if private hospitals begin charging fees due to the non-acceptance of CMHT and PMJAY.
She stated that a kidney patient requires three to four dialysis sessions per week, which is costly.
Noting that private hospitals have announced they will begin charging for dialysis starting November 6, 2025, if the Government fails to clear pending dues for healthcare schemes, she warned that this could create severe challenges for kidney patients and their families if the issue remains unresolved.
She appealed to the Government to resolve the issue before November 6.Tongbram Romen, a regular dialysis patient, expressed sadness over the unresolved issue of pending Government healthcare scheme dues, stating that it significantly impacts patients' lives.
He urged the Government to clear the pending dues for healthcare schemes to save lives.
