ABVP holds protest at Xtra Edge School
ABVP Manipur staged a protest demonstration at Xtra Edge School, with a large number of NEET aspirants joining.
State secretary Gautam Philem condemned the NTA for failing to conduct a fair and transparent exam, saying the future of lakhs of students cannot be compromised due to corruption and negligence.
He demanded the immediate resignation of the NTA Chairman, a high-level independent probe, and strict punishment for all involved in the leak.
ABVP also sought a transparent and secure examination system, stronger measures to prevent malpractices, and protection of genuine aspirants' interests.
"Repeated irregularities are destroying students' trust in the education system and causing mental stress", ABVP said, warning of continued democratic protests if action is not taken.
Congress alleges BJP link, cites past leaks.
Separately, MPCC general secretary N Popilal told reporters at a press meet organised by NSUI at BT Road that NEET paper leaks are not new and have occurred repeatedly since the BJP came to power.
He alleged that the CBI arrested Rajasthan BJP leader Dinesh Biwal for buying the NEET paper for Rs 30 lakh and selling it to candidates for lakhs each.
Popilal claimed over 70 examination paper leaks have occurred in the last seven years, mostly in NDA-ruled States, with several BJP leaders named in past cases.
