As per a release issued by the International Association of Lions Clubs District 322D, building upon earlier relief drives held on June 5 and July 3, 2025, the Lions Clubs have reached out once again, this time supporting 358 families comprising 1,790 beneficiaries in Imphal East district.
The distribution drive covered five flood-affected localities in Imphal East namely Citizen Club, Khurai Thangjam Leikai, Khurai Heikru Makhong, Heingang Mayai Leikai and Takdo Thangmeiband.
The distribution included essential relief materials, made possible through an emergency grant from the Lions Clubs International Foundation (LCIF).
Additionally, Lions Clubs will extend support to Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) staying in relief camps across Nambol, Oinam, Bishnupur, Ningthoukhong, Moirang, Thoubal Wangjing, and Kakching.
Notably, Lions Clubs International has consistently stood at the forefront during times of crisis, bringing together compassionate volunteers, emergency funding, and vital resources.
The ongoing relief efforts in Manipur are a testament to the global Lions network's unwavering dedication to community welfare and humanitarian service.
The initiative was met with overwhelming appreciation from the beneficiaries, many of whom have lost their homes and belongings and are in dire need of basic necessities.
Meanwhile, the Lions Club has clarified that the name "COSCO Club Wangkhei" was inadvertently added in its press release issued on Thursday, which was carried in many newspaper and media platforms.
The club has expressed regret over the addition of the said name.
