MOMA launches skill development programme for displaced persons

Imphal, August 26 2023: Manipur Organic Mission Agency (MOMA) under the aegis of Department of Horticulture & Soil Conservation, Government of Manipur, today launched a skill development & handholding support programme on "Agri-Horti Livelihood Activities for displaced persons'' .

The skill development programme was launched at the relief camps opened in Lamboikhongnangkhong, Phayeng Ching Khunou Club and Kamakhya Pemton College, Hiyangthang.

During the launching ceremony held at Manipur Trade & Expo Centre, Lamboikhongnangkhong, Horticulture & Soil Conservation, Additional Director and MOMA, Project Director, K Devdutta Sharma shared that the programme was conducted under the supervision of Chief Minister N Biren Singh to provide special skill development training to displaced people taking shelter at the 12 relief camps opened in Imphal West, Churachandpur, Kangpokpi and Tengnoupal districts.

He mentioned that skill development training will be provided to selected inmates by experts of College of Food Technology, Central Agriculture University, Imphal and Department concerned.

He continued that skill development training on floriculture, vermi compost, processing of fruits & vegetables, mushroom cultivation, pig farming, beekeeping etc will be provided to the inmates.

"Skill development training under Agri-Horti Livelihood Activities will be provided to 5365 inmates selected from 12 relief camps of Churachandpur, Kangpokpi, Imphal West and Tengnoupal districts'', he added.
