Senapati, October 24 2025:
The All Naga Students' Association, Manipur (ANSAM) has strongly condemned the recent drone attack allegedly carried out by the Indian armed forces on Khammoii village under East Konyak Region on October 20, 2025, resulting in the deaths of two Naga civilians.
The victims have been identified as seven-year-old Phiphot Wangsa, a Grade 1 student of Khammoi Mission School, and 27-year-old student activist Khampei Wangsa, who served as the joint secretary of the Khammoi Students' Union.
Describing the attack as "barbaric, unprovoked, and inhuman," ANSAM termed it a gross violation of international human rights and the principles of justice and civility.
"This atrocious and cowardly act represents yet another painful chapter in the long history of militarisation, occupation, and subjugation of the Naga people under the shadow of the Indian state," the association stated.
ANSAM further lamented the loss of innocent lives, stating that the targeting of children and unarmed civilians threatens the peace process built on decades of dialogue and understanding between the Nagas and the Indian government.
The organisation questioned the "illegal use" of drone warfare against civilians, adding that this was the second such incident in a Naga village in a single year.
Expressing deep solidarity with the bereaved families, ANSAM said the sacrifices of the victims would never be forgotten and described their deaths as a sacred offering in the Naga struggle for freedom and dignity.
It urged Naga citizens across borders to remain united and vigilant, vowing that their national spirit, forged in pain and purified in sacrifice, would continue to shine brightly.
The Association sought the intervention of United Nations Organisations (UNO), International Human Rights Organisations and conscientious International communities to act for ending the draconian law, the Armed Forces (Special Powers) Act, 1958 that has been weaponized by the Government of India to disseminate the lives and aspirations of the struggling people in the subcontinent.
