Farmers' training programme on ''Poultry Management, Scientific Rearing of Pig and Livestock lnsurance" organised

A 3-day farmers' training programme on "Poultry Management, Scientific Rearing of Pig and Livestock Insurance" kicked off today at Paona Hall, Wangkhem Huidrom Leikai.
The farmers' training programme is being organised by the Joint Director, District Veterinary Office Thoubal/ Kakching in collaboration with the District Mission Management Unit (DMMU) Thoubal district and Manipur State Rural Livelihood Mission (MSRLM) under the aegis of National Livestock Mission (NLM) .
The inaugural programme was graced by former Wangkhem GP Pradhan Asem Modhuchandra Singh; former Regional College Professor Laishram Bijoykumar Khuman; former Wangkhem GP Ward Member Wangkhem Pratap Singh and District Mission Manager DMMU Thoubal Rajkumari Nikita as the presidium members.
Delivering the keynote address, District Veterinary Office Thoubal/Kakching, Joint Director Dr P Gojendro Singh said that the farmers' training programme is being held with the primary objective to raise awareness among the farmers on the benefits of various welfare and insurance programmes initiated by the Government.
He appealed to all the farmers to reach out to the authorities concerned and avail the benefits of the various welfare programmes designated for their well-being.
In view of the issues concerning the loss of livestock due to unforeseen circumstances such as outbreak of diseases, he advised the farmers to keep themselves updated about relevant information and focus on striving for a self-reliant State in terms of food production.
Speaking as the resource persons, former Specialist Poultry Dr Kh Somendro Singh; District Veterinary Hospital Thoubal Veterinary Officer (VO) Dr Diana Kshetrimayum and Yairipok Veterinary Hospital VO Dr K Broken Singh brief the farmers on different topics related to the training programme.
