Four ADCs installed, Chairmen sworn in ML Markson to head Senapati ADC

As expected, former (NPO) president and Poumai Naga Union (PNU) president ML Markson of Laii-DCC was elected unanimously as the ADC Chairman today at DRDA conference hall Senapati DHQs.
The election process was conducted by ADC member Thiiso Kriina as the presiding officer in the presence of CEO Rang Peter, MCS and other newly elected members from both NPF and BJP.
Without any hitches or last minute political twist, the presiding officer declared ML Markson as the only candidate who filed his nomination paper.
He was proposed by former Independent now NPF member Dingau Hau of Yangkhullen DCC and seconded by NPF Hollyson of Karong DCC.
Soon after the election, Deputy Commissioner Jacintha Lazarus, IAS administered the oath taking ceremony of the new ADC Chairman Markson at Multi-Purpose hall near new DC office complex in the presence of MLA Dr V Alexander Pao and SP K Kabib, IPS .

Attended by a host of public organizations, tribe hohos, local bodies, ADC officials, public leaders, former ADC members, District Level Officers, village authorities, party workers and NPF leaders, the occasion also witnessed the formal formation of NPF led ADC officially.
In his acceptance speech, the new ADC Chairman thanked the State Government for installing local self Government after a gap of 25 years.
While acknowledging the support of the NPF in electing him as the Chairman and the other ADC Members, Markson also called upon the Members to work sincerely for welfare of the society.
Spelling out the agenda of the ADC under his Chairmanship, Markson said that ensuring smooth functioning and regularity of Government employees and officials will be his top priority.
Interestingly, drawing huge support from village leaders, the new ADC Chairman announced that the practice of interfering in transaction of MGNREGS funds by ADC Members will be discouraged.
"We will fight for implementation of 100 days wages and only supervise and monitor as per the act of the flagship programme," he said and added that the new ADC under his leadership will give special care to health and education sectors, disabled people, senior citizens, elders and also support young and talented sports persons and students in the district.
Speaking at the occasion, MLA Alexander congratulated the new Chairman and acknowledged the people for supporting the newly elected Members.
Calling the ADC Members to be sincere, the MLA stated that the newly elected Members cannot compromise with the welfare of the people for personal motives but be responsible leaders.
Appreciating the leadership of Markson who has contributed to the society in many capacities before being elected, the MLA extended support to the new Chairman.
