Indian democracy has stood the trials and tests of time and the supremacy of the people has been demonstrated time and again through the ballot in successive elections, maintained Gurbachan in his message to the people.

Expressing that India today stands taller in the eyes of the freedom loving people of the world and the status is on the rise internationally, he also called upon the people to resolve to uphold and promote the secular, socialist and democratic values enshrined in the Constitution and also to work unitedly for making the country stronger and more prosperous.
