Oral health awareness, health camps conducted

The Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS), Imphal, today organised a free health camp dedicated to the well-being of school students, with a special focus on those from internally displaced families.
The camp was held at Irom Meijrao Model English School, Imphal West as a part of Swachhta Action Plan 2025-26.A team of doctors and specialists from the Departments of Medicine, Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PMR), Ophthalmology, and ENT provided free consultations, treatments, and counseling services to the students.
As per a release issued by RIMS, the initiative aimed to address both physical and mental health needs, ensuring early diagnosis, preventive care, and holistic well-being.
A total of 150 students from internally displaced families benefited from the health camp.
Free medicines were also distributed to all the beneficiaries.
Moreover, an oral health awareness camp was also conducted today at Moirang College Relief Camp, Moirang by the Department of Pediatric and Preventive Dentistry, Dental College, RIMS, Imphal under the "ISPPD NANHI-MUSKAN project" in collaboration with ETA North East Foundation Trust.
The programme was dedicated to the well-being of children with a special focus on those coming from internally displaced families.
During the programme, an interactive oral health talk with the children and brushing technique demonstration was carried out along with the distribution of oral health related pamphlets, toothbrushes, stationery items like pencils and light snacks.
The camp also included the release of a story, book titled "The Tale of Pukshi" written by Linthoi Chanu, active member of the ETA North East foundation Trust followed by a story telling session with the children.
The book visually presents the age old tales of Manipur in colours and action.
The programme mainly focused on uplifting the underprivileged children, by improving the overall health and quality of life with the concept that everyone deserves a healthy life and complete overall development.
DDAM
The Disabled Development Association Manipur (DDAM) in collaboration with Youths Development Foundation (YDF), Oinam Wangoi organised a 1-Day Free Health Camp at the community hall located near Oinam Sawombung Imphal Barrage Dam.
During the camp, a medical team consisting of Dr Iquebal Ahmed (Orthopedic Surgeon), Dr Oinam Azmir (Pulmonary Medicine), Dr Nushrat (Anaesthesia), Dr Md Anash (Dermatology) and Dr Ramizan (Dental) provided free consultations and medicines to the about 307 patients.
DDAM general secretary Md Yunus Khan was also present at the camp.
