Imphal, October 01 2012: Following the arrest of two PREPAK (pro) cadres along with a cache of explosives, three more cadres of the outfit including two women cadres, were arrested along with bombs and explosive materials by a combined team of Imphal East district Police and troops of 28 AR yesterday.

Speaking to reporters today, Additional SP (Ops), Imphal East, M Rajen said two woman cadres of PREPAK (Pro) were arrested during a search conducted by a combined team of Imphal East police commandos, woman personnel of Imphal East and troops of 28 AR in Hatta area yesterday.

The two woman cadres were identified as Ningthoujam (N) Wahengbam (O) Pramodini (30) of Arong Khunou Mayai Leikai and Ningthoujam (N) Lourembam (O) Sundari alias Thoi alias Lingjelthoibi alias Priya (28), he said.

Four lathod cells, one hand grenade, 500 gram of PEK and an electronic detonator with wire were recovered from a bag they possessed, Rajen said.

Later, another PREPAK (Pro) cadre identified as Khangenbam Raghumani (55) of Yairipok Malom Maning Leikai was arrested by the same team while conducting a search operation in Yairipok area, Rajen claimed.

He said the arrested cadres were commanded by a self styled 2nd Lt of PREPAK (Pro) Yaima to pass on the explosives to various places for use in attacking the SFs in connection with the outfit's Raising Day which falls on October 9 being ordered.

Three mobile phone handsets were also recovered from them.

A case has been registered at Porompat PS for further investigation, Rajen added.

Meanwhile, Imphal West district police commandos arrested five cadres of KCP by a security team at Nganapithong, Kakwa Bazar on September 30 and another KCP cadre from Heirangoithong, said a statement issued by the SP of Imphal West.

The arrested cadres have been identified as Loitongbam Khamba alias Ibomcha alias Luwanglakpa (44) s/o Lilasing of Nambol Ishok Maning Leikai; Chingakham (N) Loitongbam (O) Premila alias Thembi Devi (32), w/o L Khamba; Oinam Nelson alias Thoi alias Rajesh alias John alias Leibakngakpa (20) s/o (L) Nelachandra of Pishum Oinam Leirak; Kshetrimayum (N) Oinam (O) Nirmala alias Kanan Devi (19) w/o Nelson; Huiningshubam Mochabi alias Leeboy (24) s/o H Lumanjao of Kakwa Sorokhaibam Leikai; and Tekcham Shibakanta alias Thoi Singh (27) s/o Tompok of Heirangoithong Keibung Oinam Leikai.

Shibakanta was arrested from Heirangoithong, the statement said.
