Search Ops fail to locate missing youth

Even as a massive search operation was carried out by Manipur Police in association with Assam Rifles and other security agencies to locate 20 year old Luwangthem Mukesh, son of L Gyanendra Das of Keishampat Leimajam Leikai, who has been missing since March 16, 2025, the youth could not be located so far.
Search efforts are focused on Bishnupur and Churachandpur border areas, Joujangtek and Old Cachar Road areas, utilizing advanced technical data analysis and intelligence gathering.
Authorities have conducted high-level security coordination meetings to strategize further search operations.
Manipur Police have also urged citizens to come forward with any relevant information that could assist in tracking the missing individual.
On the other hand, security forces dismantled one illegal bunker and burnt down the remnants to ashes at Ponlen village under Kangchup police station, Kangpokpi district.
Search operations and area domination exercises were conducted by security forces in the fringe and vulnerable areas of hill and valley districts on Thursday.
During the operation, three INSAS rifles, two SLRs, three INSAS magazines, two SLR magazines, four rifle ceilings were recovered from Chingdong Leikai, Jiribam district.
Security forces also recovered one .303 rifle along with magazine and 16 live ammunition of .303 and one 12 bore cartridge from the hill range of Haotak Awang Leikai area yesterday under Kumbi police station, Bishnupur district.
Arms and ammunition were also reportedly recovered from vacated quarters located at Langol Housing Complex, Imphal West district under Lamphel police station yesterday .
The recovered arms and ammunition included two SLRs with two magazines loaded with 20 live rounds, two INSAS rifles along with magazines loaded with 20 live rounds, two SMG carbines without magazine, eight bullet proof plates and seven bullet proof vests.
Meanwhile Manipur Police arrested two KCP (Taibanganba) cadres, identified as Loitongbam Boyai Singh (45) of Wangoo Ahallup Mayai Leikai and Khumanthem Dhanabir Singh alias Naobi (28) of Churachandpur, presently staying at Old DC Office, Bishnupur from Langthabal Khunou area under Khongjom police station, Thoubal district yesterday.
Police also arrested one active member of KCP-PSC (Politburo Standing Committee) identified as Likmabam Amujao Meitei alias Lakpa (27) of Keibi Awang Leikai, Imphal East district from Sawombung Pourabi Road near FCI Godown under Lamlai police station, Imphal East district yesterday.
Security forces further arrested one active cadre of KCP(PWG), identified as Leishangthem Hiran Singh (40) of Koutruk Ching Leikai, presently staying at Utlou Makha Leikai from Maibam Chingmang near bus waiting shed along Tiddim Road under Nambol police station, Bishnupur district on Thursday.
One active member of KCP-Progressive or KCP-P was arrested by a team of Special Commando from near Hundred Flowers Higher Secondary School, Khomidok, Imphal East district this afternoon.
The arrested person has been identified as one Takhellambam Suresh alias Athouba Singh (23) s/o T Babu of Keibi Kumuda, Imphal East.
He has been handed over to Heingang police station.
