Imphal, April 22 2025:
People may not be able to enjoy the benefits of CMHT and PMJAY at JNIMS Hospital from April 25, as Pharmacies may stop supplying medicines under the schemes, said sources.
The Chief Ministergi Hakshelgi Tengbang (CMHT) and the Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (PMJAY), both provide health cover of upto Rs 5 lakh.
In case of hospitalization, a patient is given free medicines (if eligible) under the scheme.
While the medicines are supplied by a number of Pharmacies/chemist shops empanelled under the schemes, they are reimbursed by the Government/authorities later.
However, in the case of JNIMS Hospital, the pharmacies have not been reimbursed for some time, said the sources.
The Government has already sanctioned and credited the fund for reimbursement to the account of JNIMS Hospital, but it has not been released timely to the pharmacies, added the sources.
For CMHT, funds for reimbursement were released to the account of the JNIMS Hospital on January 6 and January 14 .
For PMJAY, the funds were released to the account of the JNIMS Hospital on January 17 and April 11, claimed the highly reliable sources.
The sources further asserted that the JNIMS authority and the relevant Government authorities have been urged through written representation on many occasions to process the reimbursement timely.
Despite assurances given, the JNIMS authority and the Government have failed to timely release the reimbursement money.
"This delay in the reimbursement process is likely to affect the implementation of the schemes at JNIMS Hospital from April 25," said the sources.
The empanelled pharmacies have taken a decision to stop supplying medicines for JNIMS under the schemes from April 25, added the sources.
