Welcoming the inspection drives conducted by student organisations in Government schools, Education Minister M Okendro has said that it will immensely help the Government in teacher rationalisation process.
Talking to The Sangai Express, the Minister said that a large number of LDC and Chowkidar posts are lying vacant due to employees downsizing.
Reacting to reports of changing some Government schools into poultry farms by some individuals, the Minister said that the Government will look into the matter and nobody would be given a free hand even if any classroom/school does not have adequate number of students.
Urging all concerned not to give political interference in the teacher rationalisation, M Okendro said that the process has been initiated to depute teachers in equal ratio.
The Minister said that decision of changing Ram Lal Paul Higher Secondary School into a girls' school was revoked according to the wish of the general public.
He said that an extension centre of TG Girls' Higher Secondary School would be set up prior to commencement of the next academic session at greater Imphal area.
