Governor, CM greet

Governor Anusuiya Uikey and Chief Minister N Biren Singh have extended wishes and greet-ings to the teaching commu- nity on the eve of Teachers' Day.
In her message, the Governor said that September 5 is celebrated as the Teachers' Day across the country in memory of Dr S Radha-krishnan, a renowned educa- tionist, scholar and a former President of India on his birth anniversary.
Dr Radhakrishnan had recognised the importance of teachers who are guides and mentors of future pillars of the society, she noted.
Every human being has to go through a learning phase and his mentor's ability will determine the performance of his pupils, she said.
The traditional Guru-Shishya parampara has yielded to the present system of schools, colleges and universities but the basic principle of imparting knowledge continues to be the same.
The teachers are therefore the moulders of the future generation and hence their services need to be acknowledged, she said.
She further congratulated all the esteemed members of the teaching community on the occasion of the Teachers' Day, 2023 and expressed hope that they will continue to strive to provide their services with more dedication and devotion.
Meanwhile, the Chief Minister wrote, "On this day, we celebrate the wisdom, selflessness, devotion and hard work of the teachers, who educate and guide the young minds of the students" .
Teachers are the first role models for their students and have a great influence on the formation of the young minds.
They help the students in their character development, and prepare them to be good citizens of the society through education, he noted and extended his greetings and well wishes to the teachers of the State and the country.
