Slain UGs identified

Imphal, February 26: The identity of all the six UGs shot dead by personnel of 24 Assam Rifles at border pillar no.75 near T Minou village, 10 kms south of Moreh Police Station on February 23 have been established and handed over to their respective families after post-mortem today.

The slain UGs were Leimujam Naoba alias Nobo (22) s/o Radheshyam of Tentha Marongband, Lousambam Joysana alias Abug (20) s/o Thambou of Takhel Mamang Leikai, Khaidem Monendro (45) s/o late Rotho of Bishnupur Ward No.8, Chingakham Pasanda alias Pukchao (16) s/o Kerani of Andro Khuman, Samjetsabam Ranjit (35) s/o late Angou of Laimaram Mamang Leikai and Heikrujam Neta (35) s/o late Bira of Komlakhong Mamang Leikai.

According to inputs from their families, Joysana left home some 9 months back, Monendro five/six years back saying that he would be learning computer at Delhi.

He had also returned home two months back.

Ch Pasanda left home around one year back.

As for Ranjit, he was a rebel and after being arrested by the police, he was granted bail but he rejoined the outfit about 1 year back, they said.

It has also been around 1 year since Neta left home.
