Imphal, March 12: Going on the offensive against the political leaders of the State, the proscribed PREPAK today said that they are shedding tears of woes after the Assembly was attacked while in fact they had never ever shared the suffering of the people.

In a statement, Aheiba Angom, secretary in-charge of the department of publicity and propaganda of the outfit today said that far from sharing the pain and grief of the people, who have been killed by security forces, women who have raped and the enforced disappearance perpetrated by the security forces under the immunity granted by the Armed Forces Special Powers Act, the political leaders have been reaping dividends from the people's woes.

While the people suffered, the politicians built their own empire and enriched their kins and children, charged the outfit and added that the attack at the Assembly under the commander of Cobra Task Force of the outfit, Bobby Meitei was carried out under a policy and as directed by the higher authority.

The same is the case with the attack launched at the residence of MLA Bijoy Koijam, said the outfit and added that the attacks were carried out to show that it has the capability to strike out anytime, anywhere.

Asserting that PREPAK would carry out its agenda, the statement said that the claims made by those who are today beyond the ambit of the outfit were issued without ever applying their minds on whether people like to hear them or not.

Such utterings were made because they do not realise how it erodes their credibility, claimed the statement and added that they are just expressing whatever comes to their mind.

It is not surprising to see such people speaking whatever they want because they are far removed from the aspirations of the people, asserted the outfit.

The statement appealed to the public to extend their co-operation to all future course of action taken up by PREPAK in future.

It also urged the people not to forget the cautions issued by Bobby Mangang.
