Imphal, August 18: One personnel of the 4/8 Gorkha Rifles was wounded after suspected underground cadres attacked a patrol at around 10.30 pm yesterday near upokpi in Bishnupur district.

The attackers reportedly used sophisticated weapons including lethode.

The injured, currently undergoing treatment at RIMS Hospital, has been identified as Pankaj Gurung (30) from Uttaranchal.

Meanwhile, the proscribed PREPAK claiming the attack said it was carried out by a team of Cobra Task Force.

In another incident, unidentified persons fired about two rounds at an automobile workshop (Mohon Motors) at around 10.40 pm yesterday.

The workshop is at Naoremthong Khullem Leikai and falls under the jurisdiction of Lamphel police station.
