RPF/PLA condoles death of its cadres

Imphal, March 19, 2010: The pro scribed Revolutionary People's Front (RPF) and its armed wing PLA have condoled the demise of MC-194 2nd Lt Nongleiba and A-2828 L/Cpl Jack alias Alex who were killed during a gun-battle with 21 Para Commandos at New Tolen and Wabaching area of Chandel district on March 17 morning.

In a statement, the out fit's chief of department of publicity GM Changjou said that son of Moirangthem Rameshor Meitei and Moirangthem Ongbi Sobasini of Khurai Kongpal Ningthoubung Leikai, MC-194 2nd Lt Nongleiba whose real name was Moirangthem Ingo Meitei was working in 253 mobile battalion and 2 51 mobile battalion.

He joined the party on April 11, 1998 and after completion of the basic military training of PLA, he was allotted the army no.1478 on July 15, 1998.After his training, he was posted in the General Headquarters, 101 battalion and 253 mobile battalion one after another and went on to take charge of the section -I commander of platoon II of 101 battalion A-Coy, platoon-FI of253 re serve battalion A-Coy, platoon commander of setion-II, company sergeant major (CSM) of 253 reserve battalion A-Coy and 2nd in command of 253 mobile battalion A/Coy efficiently.

He was one of the most able, dedicated and disciplined soldier of PLA who participated in various battles like that of the Kwatha, Pungdongbam, Thamnapokpi, Geltui, Oksu and the recent March 8 battle at Maryland apart from the successful role he played in the Operation Hidden Dragon, Operation Red Sun and the current ongoing operation.

On the other hand, son of late Laikhrakpam Inao Singh and Leikhrakpam Ongbi Momota of Churachandpur Zou Veng, A-2828 Lt/Cpl Jack alias Alex, whose real name was Leikhrakpam Probin Singh joined the party on March 19, 2006 and on successful completion of the basic military training of PLA, the war office allotted army no.2928 to him on July 9,2006.After the training, he was posted at 25th mobile battalion and went on to take charge of the Group-1 commander and Group-II commander of the battalion.

He was also one of the most dedicated soldiers who contributed his mite to the cause of the party.

The sacrifices they made have given new courage to other party comrades, Changjou said, while expressing condolences to their bereaved families, friends and other well-wishers.

Condolence meetings have also be held at every units, departments and stations of the outfit, Changjou added.
