Imphal, September 16: A suspected underground activist was shot dead by the Imphal West Police Commandos during an encounter which took place at Khongnang Phedekpi under Singjamei Police Station at around 10 pm today.

One point 38 revolver, two live rounds of ammunition and one handgrenade have been reportedly recovered from the possession of the suspect UG whose identity is yet to be established.

The body has been retrieved by the police and deposited the same at the mortuary of RIMS Hospital.
