Two IM 'officers' killed

Dimapur, May 09: More reports of killings have come in from Dimapur today as the build-up between the NSCN-IM and the NSCN-Unification continues to heighten.

Reports said that two "officers" of the NSCN-IM were abducted and killed in Dimapur today by the NSCN-Unification.

In two separate incidents, Joint Secretary Atong Pongener and Section Officer (SO) Athikho Mao, both NSCN-IM men were abducted and killed in Dimapur today by the NSCN-Unification.

Atong Pongener was abducted and killed at a place called Vihokhu while Athikho Mao was abducted from a place near the "Training Centre" of the NSCN-IM and killed elsewhere later.

Meanwhile, the NSCN-IM and the "Naga Nation" condoled the death of Atong Pongener, Athikho Mao and Ayin Kashung at the hands of the "Unification group".

Ayin Kashung of the NSCN-IM was killed on Thursday near Dimapur jail road in the clash betwen the NSCN-IM and the NSCN-Unification.

"The Nation is proud of them and they died 'martyrs', to be given a place of honour in the pages of the Naga history", said the NSCN-IM message while adding, "May the God under whom the Nagas survive in their struggle comfort the bereaved family members, and give them strength and courage to sustain the shock of losing the dear ones for the Nation's cause".
