Imphal, January 29 2024:
The Village Protection Force (VPF) Women's Wing Sinam Village has served an ultimatum to the state government to declare within 7 days whether state and central governments will be able to end the current crisis or not.
Addressing media persons in this regard at Sinam village in Imphal East, on Monday, VPF Women's Wing co-convenor Th Renu contended that the central government playing divide and rule policy in the present crisis and openly taking the side of the Chin-Kuki narco-terrorists merit condemnation in the strongest terms.
Stating that there are 37 bunkers constructed from Wakal in Imphal East towards Mak hill range by Kuki militants, she alleged that 3 unit of central paramilitary force instead of dismantling the bunkers, are providing arms and ammunition to the Kuki narco-terrorists who are constantly attacking the Meetei villages.
The state and the central government should ensure that the bunkers are removed and Kuki narco-terrorists chased out from the area and dominate it within 7 days.
Moreover, the Meetei village volunteers guarding their villages should be allowed to remain in peace.
Renu also warned that if the state and central government fail to uphold the proposals and allow Kuki narco-terrorists to attack the Meetei villages, mothers of Manipur would be forced to prepare the Meetei youths for war.
She also said that the people of the state in general and the students in particular are suffering due to the prolonged crisis.
Therefore, authorities concerned should declare publicly within 7 days whether the state and central government will be able to bring an end to the current crisis or not, she reiterated.
