Top army commanders review L&O in state

Eastern Command general officer commanding-in-chief lieutenant general Ram Chander Tiwari on Tuesday called on Governor Anusuiya Uikey at Raj Bhavan, here, to discuss the prevailing law and order situation in Manipur and future trajectory for restoring normalcy soon.
The Governor congratulated him on assuming the charge of Eastern Army command and further shared her views and suggestions for restoring normalcy in the state.
She also commended the continuous efforts of Indian Army and Assam Rifles in restoring peace in Manipur and their dedication to maintain security and stability in the state.
Meanwhile, Spear Corps GOC Lieutenant General HS Sahi on Monday visited the Red Shield Division and carried out a comprehensive review of operational readiness and its role in Manipur.
In a release, PIB (Defence Wing) informed that the GOC commended the performance and contributions of the officers and soldiers of the division during various operations in Manipur.
He acknowledged the pivotal role of the Division in ensuring national security and appreciated the unwavering commitment to operational tasks.
During the visit, the GOC also inaugurated the newly constructed Amrit Sarovar, symbolising a new chapter in the Division's contribution towards national initiative of 'Rejuvenating Water Bodies'.
The visit emphasised the Division's dedication to adapting to changing security dynamics.
Corps Commander's directives on preparedness and training represent a notable milestone in the Division's commitment and role towards sustaining operational excellence and enhancing the nation's security, the release added.
