Chandel, January 19 2024:
Womenfolk of Pallel Mamang Leikai staged a protest demonstration today demanding adequate deployment of State forces at Moreh.
The protestors also demanded the immediate replacement of Security Advisor Kuldiep Singh and not to release the two suspects arrested in connection with the murder of Moreh SDPO Ch Anand under any circumstances.
Slogans such as, 'Long Live Manipur', 'We stand for the State forces in Moreh', 'Replace Security Advisor Kuldiep Singh at the earliest', etc were chanted during the protest which was jointly organised by Ching Tam Apunba Nupi Lup Pallel and Pallel Meira Paibi Apunba Lup .
Speaking at the sidelines of the protest, Ching Tam Apunba Nupi Lup Pallel president A Nungshi asserted that the Security Advisor of Manipur Kuldiep Singh should resign on moral grounds since he has failed to quell the violence in the State which first erupted in May last year.
She maintained that the unabated attacks on Meitei civilians especially on those residing in the remote and periphery regions have increased over the past few days leading to the death of many civilians.
Stating that the people of Pallel are still under the constant threat of being attacked by highly armed terrorists despite the presence of Security forces in the area, she appealed to all concerned to take up immediate measures to instil a sense of security among the residents.
