ESU, PCC win big in MNCA U-14 boys tourney

Imphal, April 09 2023:
ESU and PCC recorded massive wins in the MNCA U-14 Boys Tournament on Sunday.
ESU handed PTCC a nine-wicket hammering in their Group A meeting at PCC Ground, Mayaikoibi.
PTCC, who chose to bat first, were skittled out for 152 in 16.4 overs as Dhirenda-kishore (40) and Somobanta (33) emerged key performers in their innings.
ESU's bowling saw Han-jabam Donba Sharma scalp three wickets, Thokchom Simesh take two, and Soibam Venus, Nandeibam Salain-gamba and Soibam Sayonba bag one each to lay the foundation for their side's victory.
The Wangkhei boys then chased down the target comfortably in 8.4 overs for the loss of one wicket.
Man of the match Soibam Venus took centre stage in the chase smashing an unbeaten 78 off 38 balls as Soibam Sayonba was not out on 38 off 23 balls after Hanjabam Donba (4) was caught off Dhirenda-kishore's bowling.
At PTRC Ground (Patsoi), PCC dominated MPA by eight wickets in a Group B match.
PCC restricted MPA to 153/8 in their 30 overs courtesy of Parvin Kumar who picked up four wickets, with two wickets from Pebam Yoimayai and one each from C Paikhomba and Rojer L .
In their innings, Dayananda top-scored for MPA with 33 as Chinglensana made 30 and C Yiodish contributed 17 .
PCC took 24.4 overs to achieve the target with contributions from Parvin Kumar (49 not out), Dilshan (430, Gopinath Lourangbam (13 not out) and M Pravesh (7) .
For MPA, Chinglensana and C Sitaranjan took one wicket each.
Pravin Kumar was adjudged the man of the match for his all-round display of 49 runs and 4 wickets.
